Dual Land Use - Rotating Crops : Klondike wind farm near Wasco OR, USA
This is part of the future of power generation everywhere.
It's informative to note that the expected life of one of these generators is 30 years and the break-even point for the paying back the cost is 15 years.
I don't know what the break even point is for the carbon release from construction. I note that the blades that catch the wind are made in China using coal-fired power.

Norwescon 09 : I had to leave the con Saturday so I didn't get to photograph The Masquerade this year. These are some of the things I captured on Friday morning. I trust they will show the diversity that makes this con vibrant.

Norwescon 09 Steam Punk Fashion Show : My reliance on ambient light and my starving-artist's equipment budget conspired to make the quality of these less than I might desire. Hopefully, they capture some of the spirit of these costumes, if not all the details. (wishing I'd just got up and turned on that center bank of lights...)

My personal Thank You to all the SEAF 2009 staff!
If you wish, you may add your own name in the comments for your photo. Please do not identify others who may not wish their name made public. Thank you.
